Should you be concerned?

We occasionally receive inquires from clients, concerned about the formation, on walls and floors of their building, of a white powdery substance, known as "efflorescence."  The question is whether the efflorescence is harmless or whether it is a sign of a bigger problem, such as the reduced structural integrity of the wall or the failure of waterproofing systems.  In this article we provide a general overview.
